5 Best International Job Search Sites

So, here are the 5 best international job search sites! Keep scrolling to find your dream job with these 5 international job sites.

1. CareerJet | International Jobs List

On the list of best international job search sites, let’s start with CareerJet. The website has been around since 2001 and scans over 58,000 websites every day.

CareerJet lets you search for open roles at all levels and industries across more than 90 countries.

The filter features on this website are particularly advanced, yet very easy to use. You just have to start your search by using any keyword, company, title, etc.

Then, you can get to the advanced filters for contract length, hours, etc.

CareerJet offers career search for all industries including communications, media, finance, healthcare, IT and tech, etc.

Here’s one thing to keep in mind, the website displays the job postings in the official language of the countries you’re searching for. So, if you are not fluent in the language of those countries, make sure you use a browser that will translate everything.

CareerJet is a free job search site and you do not even need to create an account. Although, if you do create one, you will be able to use some more features of the site like saving postings for later, email alerts, etc.

2. Indeed | International Job Sites

Indeed- one of the best international job sites was founded in 2004 with a simple motive: “to help people find jobs”.

Indeed is now the world’s largest job website, with more than 250 million monthly users and 10 new job postings added every second.

Usually, we say bigger is not always better. But, that’s definitely not the case here!

From my personal experience, I can say Indeed is the best overall job search/posting website.

With the magnanimity of its size, the number of industries and lifestyles it caters to, and its unparalleled update frequency, Indeed has set the standards quite high for job search websites.

The best part is that Indeed posts jobs for all job seekers in every industry, at any level (from entry-level to managerial level), and for every lifestyle (full-time, part-time, internship, and freelance)

The filtering process is quite detailed here. You can filter your job search by job title, location, experience level, salary range, and date posted.

Ain’t that extremely convenient?

Instead of scrolling through tens of irrelevant jobs, you filter your search to an extent that you only get the most relevant jobs in the list!

Now, the question arises, how much do you have to pay for such exquisite services?🤔 Well, here’s a piece of good news! Indeed is 100% free for job seekers.

Furthermore, you do not necessarily require an account! Although, if you wish to receive job updates, upload your resume, or be able to receive messages from recruiters, then you’ll have to add an account.

And, honestly, I don’t think signing up is a big deal! There are no negatives to it. So, I’d say you sign for Indeed today!

Additionally, you can also make a salary comparison for different employers and find honest reviews submitted by legitimate users.

Although the website has a great user interface, you can also download the application for easier access!

3. Glassdoor | Best International Job Search Sites

In my opinion, Glassdoor is for sure one of the best international job search sites globally.

It was founded in 2008 with the motive of bringing salary transparency and honest company reviews.

Today, Glassdoor has a database of more than 1.7 million employers, 95 million detailed company reviews, and 11 million job listings!

I’ve been personally using Glassdoor for some time and I must say that it is quite an intricate site. While looking for a job, you can view a Glassdoor estimated salary from the employer.

And, once you apply for a job, you get assistance like details about the company and the job profile for the interview preparation.

You can even find questions asked in interviews, posted by actual interviewees. So, it’s more like a personal career counselor.

You can create a free profile on Glassdoor, although it will be for a limited period of time. But, no need to worry.

To extend your membership for a lifetime, you just have to add an honest interview experience of yours with any employer. Yeah! It’s that simple!

4. LinkedIn | Best Overseas Job Search Engine & International Job Search Sites

I believe LinkedIn is one such site in this list that almost all of you must be aware of and be using.

BUT! Not all of you are using it to find a job, right?

You basically have just created a profile on the website to use as a reference. Well, then you’re not doing it right!!

LinkedIn was launched in 2003 and is currently the world’s largest professional networking platform. With over 774 million registered users across all industries, LinkedIn has established its credibility globally and thus is trusted by employers all over the world.

LinkedIn is not just a database for open opportunities, but it is more of a digital resume platform, and a professional social networking tool. Also, I would say, it is one of the best overseas job search engines globally.

Now, it is very important to understand that while applying for jobs via LinkedIn, your profile serves as a ‘public digital resume’.

Thus, it is very important to spend a fair amount of time curating your profile here. Make sure it is detailed, well-optimized, and accurate.

LinkedIn also offers free services, although you can upgrade to its premium version by paying a fee.

Just in case you are wondering, what’s in for the premium users, then here’s the package:

  • See who viewed your profile
  • Get detailed insights on the other applicants who have applied for the jobs that you are interested in.
  • Send messages to people you have not yet connected with.

5. Monster | International Jobs List

Monster was founded in 1994, again, with the motive of bringing the talent and the companies together.

As per the current Monster stats, the following happens every single minute:

  • 29 resumes are uploaded, and
  • 7,900 job search queries are entered

Now, if I were, to be honest with you guys, I’ll say that Monster is a great site to search for a job. But, it might not be able to meet the standards set by other websites like Indeed.

For instance, it has fewer job search filters and, honestly, not as many opportunities.

But, just like Indeed, Monster does cater to talent from all experience levels and all lifestyles (part-time, full-time, freelance, temporary, etc.). Moreover, the search tools are free

Also, one more thing, you will have to create an account to start applying for jobs on Monster and it is a pretty time-consuming task.

Other than the job search function, Monster also allows you to research and compare salaries AND offers makeovers for premium quality resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles for a price between $129 to $349.

1. Make yourself a digital presence

Finding international jobs does not always involve walk-in interviews. Most of the time, you have to submit your profile online and then wait for any further intimation.

Whether or not you are eligible to be taken for the further steps of the hiring process depends on your profile.

So, make sure you build yourself a strong digital profile to help you get through the preliminary screening.

2. Learn the language and the culture

When applying for a job in a foreign country, make sure you know at least the basics of its language.

If you do not have such basic knowledge, then it is very important to express your eagerness to learn the language and the culture during the interview.

3. Tailor your application to the location

While applying to different countries, you might want to make a few adjustments to your application.

For instance, say you are an Indian citizen and your CV includes your proficiencies in the regional languages of India.

Now, if you are applying for a job in, say, Germany, you might want to remove this particular information. Since it would be a little irrelevant for a German employer to know your proficiency in Punjabi.

4. Nail the online interview

For jobs abroad, you generally have to go through an online selection procedure including the interview.

Now, to get any job, of course, you have to ace the interview. But, just because this interview will be conducted online does not mean you should underestimate it.

Get dressed just as you would for an in-person interview. Make sure you look directly into the camera instead of looking all over the screen.

And, most importantly check your network connectivity and your microphone beforehand. Also, make sure you check out these Zoom call failure tips before sitting for a Zoom interview.
