Army Ordnance Corps Centre (AOC) is going to conduct the written exam for the post of Material Assistant (MA), Junior Office Assistant (JOA, Civil Motor Driver (OG), Tele Operator Grade-II, Fireman, Carpenter & Joiner, Painter and Decorator, MTS, Tradesman Mate.

Exam Pattern: For Pay level – 1 & 2 (Matric Level Standard)

Time: 2 Hours (20 minutes extra for Visually handicapped only)

AOC Group C Written Exam Syllabus for Fireman and Tradesman Mate

1. General intelligence and reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. The test will consist of questions on analogies and differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship, concepts, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation, other analytical functions, etc.

      2. General English: Candidates understanding of English language and its
      correct usage, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and
      its correct usage etc.

      3. Numerical Aptitude: The paper will include questions on basic mathematics, including number systems, whole number computation, decimals, fractions, numerical relationships, fundamental arithmetic operations, percentages, ratios and proportions, averages, interest, profit and loss, discounts, interpreting tables and graphs, mensuration, and concepts involving time, distance, and work.

      4. General Awareness: These questions will assess a candidate’s general awareness of the environment and how it applies to society. They will also gauge knowledge of current events, everyday observations, and their scientific context. The test will include topics related to India and its neighboring countries, such as sports, history, culture, geography, economics, general policies (including the Indian Constitution), and scientific research. No specialized study of any particular subject will be necessary.
